Does the engine have the oil pump?

Yes, full pressure lubricated. If you look closely at the pic of the left side of the engine, you can see the oil filter.

First off folks, I apologize for using the word "ugly" in my 1st post. I should have used better terminology and chose different verbage, and instead used the word neglected. We (all of us here) see beauty in each, and every machine we find no matter the condition we find them in, so, now thats out the way...

Lets get to gettin....

I got her running, took a few trys, but she actually runs really good. I also noticed by the wear on the machine, it doesn't seem to be a high hour machine, and I think I know why.

The charge circuit seems to have a short somewhere. When hooked up, you can hear the main circuit breaker kick in, and out. Also, the ammeter goes nuts into discharge. If I unplug the ac lines coming from the stator, it returns to normal, of course with a slight discharge.

I obviously had to pull the tins off, if u watch closely, you can see the crap blowing outta there like mad. Once I shut it down, I tore into that, and cleaned that up before that stuff started on fire. It was just stating to smoke, so that's the time to shut it down! Before, and after pics, of that, naturally:)

Little side note to my 1st post too. I didn't realize it, but I am missing 1 tiller lift arm, but I'm confident I could fab 1 up real easy.

Anyway, enjoy the video, unedited, unscripted, just 7 minutes of pure goodness;)

P.s. What a great Keychain, Who doesn't like Reba!

Little video with a cold start, and putting the HT23 away too.
Sorry the tiller was in the way, guess I should have taken that off 1st? Oh well...

I was expecting to see a smoke bomb when you started it. That's not much smoke. I think you bought a winner.

Thank you, I'm not sure yet, but maybe my loader gets put on this one istead of the 23? We'll see, its too late in the year to make that change now, so who knows? Lol

I certainly do NOT recommend buying ANYTHING you can't hear run UNLESS, you knoe what you are looking for!

A non-running unit makes for more unseen issues;)

Little video of the work I did to this point , plus driving the old
Gal!

I did forget to bring my multi meter along to test the stator, my bad, but the severe discharge is gone. I do believe the stator is toast, and that was from the original regulator shorting out.

What I think happened was the regulator shorted to ground, and took out the stator. The B+ from the regulator goes though the ammeter, and curcuit breaker, then to the key switch and so on. The short in the regulator was sending current from the battery back to ground causing the curcuit breaker to keep kicking out, and showing a severe discharge on the gauge. This is clearly speculation to this point until I get definite results from further testing.

Next week ill get over there, and toss a meter on the stator to check that out, and Ill post a video of that. Of course mother nature permitting, so stay tuned...

I had some time today to test the stator, and yep, She's JUNK.
