Just learned member "skunkhome", (Phil) has lost all he owned to the flooding in Baton Rouge.  He moved a lot of his belongings to what was always safe higher ground, but it too was flooded, so he lost everything, his cars, truck, camper, tractors, and literally everything at his home, finally to swim in chin deep waters a mile to reach safety.  I am sure he had insurance to cover a lot, but it will still be a huge ordeal mentally, physically, and financially.

I've known Phil for many years through GT forums and he's a great guy.  Please keep he and his family in your thoughts & prayers.  Phil, Jann, and Jenn, I am so glad you are safe!  We love ya!

That is very sad, and to know someone personally that this has happened to is even worse. I wouldn't wish something like that even on my worst enemy. My gosh.

Prayers sent out, and hope everything turns out ok.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. I am glad all of you escaped with your life. Floodwaters don't stop to think about what they are about to destroy. I will put you in my prayers and hope the recovery goes well.

Man I'm sorry to hear about this, those not affected by such disasters just don't really get how mentally devastating floods and fires are.

Prayers sent specifically for you and your family and generically for so many others caught up in this.

Jim

Flooding is so terrible. Ruins everything it touches. Prayers for a swift clean up for those involved.

I haven't heard much about this flooding. I don't watch much TV but don't see it popping up anywhere. Had to google to find anything
