I was given this LT1042 because the PTO did not work. I replaced the PTO switch and it started to work. I figured I had it licked. I was testing it the other day and it will engage and cut fine as long as you're moving. When you come to a stop, the PTO cuts out and will not re-engage. I have to start moving, push the switch in and pull it out to engage the deck. Does this every time and doesn't matter if the ign switch is in normal or the safety position. I looked online and saw that there are a lot of sales for these switches on Ebay. I tried to get a used one and everyone said that it is the first part they sell. Am I correct to believe this is the culprit? Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Barry

Sounds like a safety switch on the hydro pedal or the brake pedal that is disengaging the clutch.  Trace the wires from the PTO clutch back through the safety switch and PTO engagement switch.  Should be a manual for your tractor in the manuals section that shows the wiring diagram.  Good luck.
