Hi all I'm new to the group and new to Bolens. I came across a model 1058 in nice overall shape with about 2900 hours. the deck needs serious help and I hope to find a replacement somewhere or I'll need to do some fabricating(only good things are the spindles and pulleys). I was repowered with a Briggs 18hp I/C Plus and conversion looks well done. I see very little about this model. Any thoughts or comments? Any ideas on removing steering wheel to replace upper bushing? It's seized to the shaft. Roll pin came out though.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to GTT. Check our Manuals Section for info. Search CL for the deck. I've seen several Bolens decks for sale in my area but don't know what madels they fit. When asking questions, post some pics that show the situation to make it clear to us. Good Luck, Rick

The H11XL was under powered, but used the same transmission as the other XL's with bigger engines. I have repowered them myself and put them back to work. All Bolens Medium frames (XL series and 1600/1700 Eliminators) used the same attachments. Common and easy to find. Stuff from tube frames, Q's, St's, and large frames won't work. Good luck, Paul.

May have to get the blue wrench out to get the steering wheel off.  Heat the part that goes over the shaft on one side only or you will swell the shaft as well.  Good luck.
