Hi does anyone know if both throttle and choke levers were the same color red, black, one red, one black??? Second question, The external hydraulic lift was offered as an accessory that would fit many of the tube frame tractors so did it come in any particular color? I painted mine white to match the white on my 900. It looks really nice but now I'm wondering if I painted it the wrong color. I'll get some pictures pretty soon to show you the tractor. Thanks for looking.

Knobs should be the same, my 900's are red , hydro pumps early were red , later black, have had NOS ones of both colors, only colors I've seen

Although the Bolens brochures show the hydraulic lift kit as colorized in red on a black & white pic, I remember the early 18703 kits as being painted cordovan.

Of course, I can't remember what I ate two days ago. :D

Good to know, So my hydro pump is red as it is on a 900 which is probably correct. Where the pump cradle and lift cylinder the same color as the hydro pump? In my case everything should be painted red?

Ok now I'm not sure if I should paint the rest of the system red or brown? Obviously white was not an option  :wallbanging:  I'll have to repaint no matter what....

I have one that still has the original paint which is that brown color you see on many machines. I bought second hand and I'm not sure what it came of of. Maybe a 1050?

Ah very well then. I have a choice of red or brown. I'm thinking that the 900 being 1964 probably had a brown one based on what Jerome listed in order of color, any thoughts?? I'd like to make mine look correct for the year 1964 Bolens 900. Thanks guys for all your replies to my questions.

Many of time a dealer would add something to a tractor years later so red would not be a bad choice to.

The one that I put on my G10 is gold, and it appears that it was the original color.

Thanks guys, based on all your information I have decided that my dealer put a brand new hydraulic lift kit on my 900 when he sold it to me brand new so I am going to repaint it brown. It looks very pretty in the white that I JUST painted last week. I'll get pictures of it white and again after it is painted brown so you can see. Thanks for all the info much appreciated.
