What would be a good price for a Bolen HT20 with back blade, plow, snow blower, tiller, deck, wheel weights, and chains?  I know this might be dependent on location but tell me what you think.

Here is what she looks like.  It has been stored inside most of its life.

Its what your willing to pay I wouldent pay more the 60% of his asking price.  Stuff looks like it needs alot of work to me and its looks to be missing things you would need to use the attachments.

Like I usually say:

About half what the seller is asking - which is pretty much in line with what Jerome said above.

In trying to keep prices fair for those things we all love we don't like to give out prices. Your price is what your willing to pay, how bad do you want it & the main thing to consider does it all work. Keep us updated.

Things seem to bring a few more dollars out your way,you need to make sure all the parts are there, like the driveshaft and lift arms for the tiller, the stuff does look well used, not to say there's anything wrong with that,as long as it was maintained, the  HT-20 is a good worker

Price depends on if you are buying or selling.

I don't know which you are doing.

Looks like it has been used a lot.  Blades for deck are getting hard to find, Parts are getting fairly expensive on these machines however they are very well built.

Looks like some of the lift for the mower deck is missing, Lift assist springs for snow blower etc.

All in all a lot of attachments come with.

It would bring 1000 to 1500 in this area.

They do. I found the ad on Craigslist and would say the $1k asking price is definitely in line, considering what it comes with, with prices of what these are listed for in this area. In fact it will probably be sold very soon if not already.

It does look well used. The front tires are near bald giving you a good indication of that among other things. If it was maintained as Rick said, that could be a none-issue.

As others have said, confirm the necessary hardware is included to run the attachments otherwise you'll be having to hunt for those. If you're within driving distance, I would say its worth a look and you might even be able to bargain him down a little further since the seller states it hasn't run in a while. If it were closer, I'd be temped to get it, make it run, and resell the package for a nice little $500 profit in this area.

I craigslist around a dozen states when I search for Bolens. I have seen a lot of HT20s and some HT23 sitting on craigslist for weeks if not months not selling at a grand with 3 attachments.  Bolens made a lot of HT20s more will turn up for way less with more stuff if you wait that is what I have learned over my years of bolens buying.

They probably do sell in a matter of minutes, ads are just never taken down. There was a beat HT23 for sale with a snowblower here a few months ago. I called within 3 minutes and it was SOLD.

Price and availability vary greatly in different parts of the US.  Large frames especially are uncommon in my area, and command a higher price then I see them advertised for in the upper mid west.

I checked craigslist this morning, and there are no large frames for sale between Bellingham (near Canada) to south of San Fran.  That's about 1400 miles between.  Probably just as well that Bolens tractors are not as common out here.  They are habit forming!  ; )

That looks like a fairly decent package. From what I've read the owner is asking $1000. So maybe he has some wiggle room on price depending on what issues you find with the tractor or attachments.  Also you have to look at it as you have a complete large frame with alot the goodies(attachments) at one place. When I bought my HT23 I got a plow and sweeper with it, Niether I needed really. So I attempted to sell/trade those attachments for ones I wanted and could use. Well it turned into a big hassle, nothing worked out, attachments were hard to find close to home, so I barely used the tractor because I didn't have the attachments needed. So someone offered me my money back for it, and I let the HT23 go. Do I miss the tractor, yea, but unless I found attachments it was just gonna sit so I let it go.  So if you can use all that in the package, that is a huge time and money saver getting it all at once. If you can't use every attachment, well you could always sell what you don't need to fund repairs to the tractor or offset the initial cost of buying everything. Just break down what your getting in attachments and what they could be sold for:

Snowblower $100-$150??

Rear Blade- $75-$150??

Tiller-$100-$150??

plow- $100- $150??

Mower deck-$100-$150??

Wheel weights- $100-$150??

Chains- $50??

HT20- $500 easy.

I'm probably a bit light on alot of those prices, but its just to show you that if you could grab the tractor for alittle under his asking price, or even his asking price, it seems fair to me! If the tractor is not for you, then I see no reason why you couldn't seperate and resell everything and get your money back.

Good luck, and let us know how you made out!
