Prepped wife's car to do a bit of touch up. Masked, DA'd, rust is gone, bare metal, reach for the primer/paint...duh, GT colors, none for the job at hand. Misted with craftsman gray to ward off dew forming on unprotected/prepped metal. Tomorrow's another day.

I don't know how many times I've called to wife to pick me up this or that when I find out I'm out of something I need!

I can remember my eighth grade locker combination(8-20-8) and Chevy small block points and condenser set part numbers(CS786), (1068 or 1069 for the oil filter) from 35 years ago but I can't remember yesterday's lunch or if I even had lunch yesterday.

To counter that, as I use up things or need something, I write them in my Notes on my phone. Then as I am out running errands or stop at the store coming home from work, I check my phone for what I need.

I initially started this when gas went over $ 4 a gallon and I grouped my errands together to avoid running to the store over and over turning two dollars of hardware into fifteen dollars.

Now all I have to do is remember to check my phone.....

To grow younger as we age is really fine

The memory works strange as if there's a line

We remember things from years gone by

But yesterday can be like a fog in the sky

The line divides what is clear as a bell

From events more recent we don't remember as well

One thing that is good is we forget more easily the failings of others

And learn to love unconditionally the same as most mothers

Who see their sons and daughters as perfect offspring

And forgive their faults and of their praises do sing

And of course notes are the new way to make you look smart

As you jot things down each day from the end to the start

We make a list with pen and paper or some other way

And then we can't find where we left it when we start the next day

So we start another list and try to recall what was on

The list that we made yesterday before the items are once again gone

Grow old with each day and enjoy the pleasures that they bring

For memory, like life itself, can be a fleeting thing
