While trying to tow my LGT195 in the shop to find out why it wouldnt start, the bottom blew out of the steering box. I was surprised it was cast aluminum. After a quick check, it looks alot like the box on the 100 but with a longer output shaft. I would like to buy one and try to swap the needed 195 parts to another box before I pull one off the 100 to see if it will work. Let me know if anyone has something the think might work. Thanks

Used on lots of garden tractors.
Your LGT should have the same box.
Check the garden tractor forum at the top of the page for a sticky on rebuilding these units in a snapper.
You can find them on eBay.
Search cub cadet and John Deere.
But they are easy to rebuild.
The big job is removal and re-installation!

The biggest problem it the bottom of the case is busted out, female threads and all, the only way to rebuild that is to throw it away and get another one

I've got a LGT165 that I have robbed parts off of that has one in it. I will check it tomorrow and see what condition it's in.
