Here is a picture of the tractor that I'm trying to identify. It comes with a tiller that is driven by a pto shaft. The decal says its an MTD. I've noticed that the engines sits on the frame different from my 990. I thought it might be a 960 but I haven't found any 960 pictures that look like this.

My biggest question is will the draft bars and tiller work on my 990?

That looks like the same tiller I had here for TD&H. I would think it would work. But I'm guessing!

I think it is perhaps a 992 or 993 from the mid eighties?
Standard trans and manual lift.
That's the generation after the 990's
I don't know that the tiller would work on a 990.
But perhaps with a different length drive shaft it might?
However, I believe your snow plow / dozer blade may hook right up to this tractor!

Here is the ipl for,918 and 951 three point hitch which appears to be the same at a quick glance while scanning.also 956,981 and 987-989 tillers. The 956 uses a 27 in drive shaft as noted on the IPL,maybe you can compare the tiller pages to determine if it will interchange

I think it's a 918 model 14-918-0

Thanks for the information!

I down loaded the 918 owners manual and it looks identical to me.

The part number for the LH draft arm is 13130.

The 990 lists the LH draft arm as 10986.

I'm assuming they are different parts unless someone knows how to cross reference these two number. I've tried and I've had no luck.

I need the draft arms for my 990. If I can get a tiller as well then that will be a bonus!

TD&H is Texas deer and horse, a member here.
No, that three point hitch will not fit a 990.

It was worth the try. Thanks for all of the help!
