Here is a picture of the tractor that I'm trying to identify. It comes with a tiller that is driven by a pto shaft. The decal says its an MTD. I've noticed that the engines sits on the frame different from my 990. I thought it might be a 960 but I haven't found any 960 pictures that look like this.
My biggest question is will the draft bars and tiller work on my 990?
I think it is perhaps a 992 or 993 from the mid eighties?
Standard trans and manual lift.
That's the generation after the 990's
I don't know that the tiller would work on a 990.
But perhaps with a different length drive shaft it might?
However, I believe your snow plow / dozer blade may hook right up to this tractor!
Here is the ipl for,918 and 951 three point hitch which appears to be the same at a quick glance while scanning.also 956,981 and 987-989 tillers. The 956 uses a 27 in drive shaft as noted on the IPL,maybe you can compare the tiller pages to determine if it will interchange
