That is a great looking tractor! I hope you can get it up and running without too much trouble or expense. I like your plan to try to preserve it in the condition it is in rather than a full restore. I understand doing a full restore on a tractor that is sad looking, but yours looks "well aged". I have one that I may try the vinegar and clear coat idea on.

Well some progress tonight on the 1000. I used several house hold cleaners and soapy water with some 1500 and 2000 grit wet sand paper. On real heavy areas I ran 400 grit wet sand paper over 1st, then stepped up to higher # grits. I then ran Meguiars ultra cut compound over the hood and half of the rear fender pan with the buffer. Then ran a good paste wax over that and buffed that off. I hand compounded the steering wheel, but I have to clean some rust of the steering wheel spokes. Here are some night time pictures, not sure if the shine shows well, but I will have to finish the project off and take pictures outside in the sun. I also gave you some pictures of how bad the hood was and still is on the one side I haven't gotten to yet. Overall I think it's coming out decent. Hope to get some more time on it early next week. Enjoy!

Alright, got up bright and early while the baby and wife were still snoozing and went out and finished the white. Fenders, hood and steering wheel cleaned! The brown is another story and another day. I also took some pictures of the paper work. It's kinda neat I think, but no receipt 😤. The thing shines great and shows some cool "patina". Someday I'll restore it, but for now, I think this will do just fine.
