When one don't keep their mind on what they are doing strange things can happen. Was putting the deck back under the QT this morning and thought I better check the oil in the gear box. It was just a little low so grabber the 80-90W gear oil bottle, puled the cap and put the oil in squeezing with my right hand. The whole time thinking of something else, the case got full so pulled the spout of the bottle out and stuck the cap in the gear box hole. I didn't fit. Only a small bit of it was sticking out. Tried to grab it with a pliers and it slid back into the gear case. Went after a needle nose and when I got back 1/2 the cap was sticking out the hole. The cap floated in the gear oil and floated 1/2 out with the excess oil. Easy enough to retrieve now.
This time I put the right plug in the hole and used some oil dry to clean up the excess gear oil. Who would have thought that a plastic cap would float in gear oil?
