Excellent Save!! The 917 is one of my favorites. I love the sound of those opposed Kohlers.

Great save on that one. I have saved several garden tractors at my local scrap yard, worse shape usually. I let a tractor go at scrap yard recently that was fairly decent looking, but the twin cylinder engine was in 100 pieces. It was one of those tractors that is just as expensive to fix (new engine) as it is to get a good running one already. If the engine had been all together, it would have been on my truck no questions asked... With engine apart if there is anything else wrong with it you go broke buying parts for that brand.

Definitely was a tractor I would have kept for myself if bringing it home to fix. I have no room for more project tractors either.

Man, that was a good score! Imagine what we don't see that does end up shredded and pressed into a neat little square.

I try hard not to do that.
