I am new to this site and have been on the Bolens side of the forums. I have a 56 Bolens Ride a Matic tractor with a k90T engine on it. I have the optional Schnake recoil on it that is missing the rubber rope handle. I know I can put an aftermarket handle on it and be done with it, but I would like to find a NOS or repro one, as I am doing a restoration on the Bolens. I am told this same recoil setup was used on the Wheelhorse tractors at one time. I found a 6 year old post on Google for these, but that led nowhere. Can anyone here help me out? You can answer here or just PM me.

Thanks,
Barry

They were sold with the rope attached, Kohler# 220233

A NOS one is on ebay right now

Schanake parts are pretty hard to find, you also have to fight the wheel horse guys for them

I have read there is a gentleman by the name of Ray? Papke, who rebuilds these schnake recoils. I am not 100% sure of the name, but if anyone knows of this person, can you pass along information on him? I'd like to get the particulars on getting mine redone.

Thanks

Joe Papke replied. He can completely go thru it or sell me the handle and wire cable. I wrote back asking for prices as to which way to go.
