Should I buy 1250 with issues? Help!

$200+ worth of rear tires there.Looks like 26x12-12 ITP Mud Light XL

 

Accually $575 is reasonable if you add up some numbers on the stuff.Plow $100-$150? large frame Tiller $200-$250 around here and the tires at $200-$250 shipped on Ebay.

 

 

If you are buying it to use I can see why that might seem high knowing that the tractor needs work.If the engine runs good I think it would be a good deal.

 

Mention that you might have to replace the whole transaxle and driveshaft assembly.I bet you'll get a better price on it. 

I'm with EricFromPa on this  :iagree: . bargin a bit, who knows they might come down on price, but overall, I'd do it in a heartbeat if I were close by. Heck, I could use the tiller driveshaft!!!

Pic 1 & 7 looks to me like angle iron has been added to the frame below the motor, frame rails cracked? Someone thinking they needed strengthened? More detractors from asking price IMO.

 

 

I missed that I should of looked more but yes look to be welded on.  Odd for those to be added the frame problems in that area is seen on the 18+ hp large frames.

I have A G14 with all the attachments tiller, snow plow, mower deck and snow blower, tire chains and wheel weights that I am only asking $875.00 and every thing works but the hydraulic lift

Bear in mind too that the 1250 is the lowest horsepower Large Frame. They were often considered to be underpowered for a tractor that size when they were new. As a result, a running, driving 1250 is not worth anywhere near as much as even the 1455 and up.

This is pretty cool.Found some data on the S12D and S14D.Both have 3" stroke S14D has 1/4" bigger bore.

HP up to 2400 is only .20hp.After 2600 the S14D spanks the S12D.Engine Torque is virtually the same.

 

Don't know why they only test torque from 2200 to 2600.Always thought HP and Torque were linear on a small engine.Both should max out at it's rated RPM?

The S14D is an awesome engine especially one that is in good condition or has been rebuilt.
