While I was working on my GTV18 rebuild, which you can read about in my other post, this GT6000 showed up on the local internet classifieds for a great price. To my wife's dismay, I brought it home. But, after a carburetor rebuild, a new fuel filter, a new seat, and a basic service, she's running and cutting like a champ. That gave me some relief with the boss. This winter I'll tear it apart and give her a fresh coat of paint, maybe to match the GTV.

The problem now is figuring out how to justify the next one to my better half.

I forgot--I also had to replace the electric PTO switch and clean-up the connections on the ignition.

hehe Nice.

Give that one to your better half and paint it up whatever color she wants? Pretty things seem to make them super happy for a while lol.

I just keep buying whatever I wish, she just keeps whining, it just goes out of my mind/ear anymore. Nothing ever changes in any way, so why not? She can't cook, so can't hold that back on me, the "LOVE" part is long gone, can't hold away what is not given, heh! I'm still the King at my place! And Yeah, making one for her in odd colors is good way to get on better side, what there is of one.

Very nice.
I have the same unit in Hydro. They actually do a decent job mowing.
Finding the sleeve hitch assembly was a little bit of work, but I got 99% of one and made a passable lift arm.
Might check the little anti spin pin on the PTO clutch. They all seem to be worn some and will cause havoc if they break off.

I hate when I see clippings left on the deck. God knows what it looks like under the spindle cover. Overall looks like a good machine!

Couldn't agree with you more, larry. I'm afraid how much grass I'll find packed inside the engine tins when I pull it apart this winter. Until then, I'm afraid to run it much.

Is that bumper on your GT II a custom product? If not, where did you find it? I'd love to pick one up.

All three bumpers are Sears Products. I snagged the black ones at mower salvage yards. And purchased the chrome one at Sears several years ago.
