I recently bought a Bolens chipper/shredder. When I am looking to buy something like this, I like to look up the manual online so I know the machine somewhat when I go to look at it. I could not find anything on this one though, the searches kept coming up with the newer MTD machines. I did end up buying it and got both the operators manual and the parts catalog with it, which are very different than the MTD manuals I found. I would like to upload these manuals to this site, but I am not sure how to do it, or what section I should put them in. I do have a flatbed scanner, just not sure how to convert a scanned image to PDF etc.

Depending the age of your scanner, some have the option to 'scan to PDF'. Otherwise, I scan the images to a file. I save them as 1,2,etc to ease the next operation. Then I use Open Office and make a text file. Insert the images on the pages and save the file as the name of the manual. Then you can go to the 'File' drop down and 'export as PDF'.

If you have any questions, let us know.

Also, there is a miscellaneous section. Should be fine there?

As a side note, I have used this to convert from pictures to PDF. Lightweight program, seems ok so far.
