My response is usually:

 

"Old, fat, tired, poor, and ugly  --- and tomorrow doesn't look any better !"

 

Some laugh, some look puzzled.  ....It keeps them guessing.

 

 

My buddy's usual response is:  "Shitty, but thanks for asking."

I say to most people I know when they ask that question (pretty rotten but thanks for asking), and I always get a good laugh out of most, lol.....

I use to say, "Been better, cost more." That confused the slower among us, so now I say,"I've been a lot worse than this!"

When people ask me that question I reply with "Fair to partly cloudy"

Some get it, some think I'm talking conditions outside. Too funny; )

When they ask "How's life treatin' you", I always say, "Often enough to make it worthwhile". That usually throws them.

 

If they ask "how are you?", I'll say either "tickety boo", or else "Bright eyed and bushy tailed". I guess I just like to see folks smile.  :angel:

when i am asked how i'm doin , i answer : looking down not up ,another is , land of the living , very seldom do they answer right back it takes them time to ponder the answer
