I have been doing a little searching and figured I would just ask, I started working on my wheel horse rj again and need to replace the rear wheel axle seals and o course the bushings.  I can get a complete rebuild kit on flea-bay or $200 but before I spend the cash if someone here can get them for a little cheaper than that would be great.  any help would be appreciated.

Hi Pete, you can get the bearings bushings and oil seals thru napa should be cheaper.

Not trying to take business away from Brian (Bolens 1000) but I'd contact fellow member JakeKuhn (Jake). He has all of the parts you'll need, and is willing to give the advice should you get stuck. I just received my box from him that contained all of the bearings, seals, gaskets, and axle bushings. Very pleased with the parts, and he is a super great guy to do business with. I highly recommend him. Just send him a PM.

As far as I know the rear axle seals 1257 replaced by 83-2840 are available from Toro only.

All the seal companies have a replacement using their interchange but they won't fit.

Reason being in this application the seal is installed over the axle tube like a cap.

Most seals install into a counter-bore but this is different.

These seals are on and off as far as availability. Toro said not available a short time ago but so did Partstree at that time. Now it looks like Partstree has them again. I didn't check Toro this morning.
