A buddy found this at a local sale barn a few evening ago and bought it to save it. Then brought it to me to check over and sell for him. He isn't real big into vintage GT's but I have taught him well lol. He will save them when he finds them if he can reasonably. Then he brings them to me to sell. Anyway this 1010 looks like a time capsule that someone parked in a barn or lean to 20 years ago and walked away from. The paper taped to the hood at the sale barn says runs good / good trans but I haven't checked any of it yet. I just thought it was a cool find and I would share it.

Well I have looked at it for the last few days since he brought it here. I like it and it goes with my AMF 1414 but I don't need another project waiting so I have talked myself out of it a few times. I called him today and told him I wanted it. So a fast pressure wash and inside it goes with "my" tractors.

Neat, so, is it a 10 or 12 hp ? And do you know the year yet. Must be early seventies, just my guess.

I was thinking that now I need a 1014 Brian,to have all three versions or models. Did they make a 12hp version ?

Its a 10hp HH100 engine Noel and like you I'm guessing early 70's by the gear drive starter and splined axles

I checked the oil, hooked up my jumper box and Hey the lights work ! So a little gas in the plug hole and it started right up ! I was surprised ! I really figured this time capsule looking tractor was going to need quite a bit before it would even try to run such as cleaning up the SSI,the starter looks like it was probably rusted stuck, etc. So I put some gas in the tank, aired up the flat front tire (the only one not original) and hit the key again. It started up and runs good with no smoke and the trans seems good. The only thing it seems to need is the typical carb cleaning that pretty much every old machine that hasn't ran in a long time needs that comes thru here. I'm pretty amazed, the little HH100 seems ready to go in spite of how it looks. Now the deck is another story. Looks like some regular TLC and a good cleaning and this might make a nice original old tractor.

I don't think I have ever seen a 1012 Brian. The 1010 and 1012 would be the same style so the 1010 could represent both for me,the 1414 being a stand alone model represents, that model, now if I had a 1014 (same as a Massey 14) I would have all 3 different framed, drive styles that AMF offered....but...I probably have more tractors than I need to keep up with now so I don't think I will go looking for a 1014 just yet... :D
