My 90 year old neighbor asked me to replace the main drive belt on her Ford (New Holland) LS25....mid 90s, I figure........It has the Kohler 12.5 vertical shaft engine. The belt runs from front to back to a big pulley on top of the trans axle (gear drive).........When I got a good look under there, it looks like 1/2 this damn machine needs to come apart to get this belt out....it goes on each side of the steering gears, with no way of coming out easily that I can see.........Anyone ever change one of these, maybe links to a manual?.....I don't want to disappoint the old girl.......she still mows her own yard with this thing.

I don't know anything about the fords but I hope you don't have to tear it all apart to replace the belt. I don't think we have a manual for that series yet. Hopefully someone will chime in that can help. It is very nice of you to help her out.

I tried to find info, yesterday, but came up blank so far. Only thing that came close was service manuals for sale.

Good luck to you. If you are like me, jobs like that are when you would like to turn the tractor/mower on it's side!!!
