Up front, all consideration is highly appreciated.

Right to it; When reaching into my 1969 JD110 garden tractor to replace a broken linkage I shorted the ignition and burned up the coil. The local supply can't right help me and I'm seeking to fix it.

If you could tell me how to search for the correct parts to replace?

All questions welcome if it helps.

Thanks!

In the manuals section listed above under engines there is a manual for the kohler 181. You could down load that and see if it is of any help.  Don

I would be surprised if one of our sponsors don't have an option.
Give them a day to see the thread.

The linked manual says I need P/N 47 755 20 from group 6 in the chart, page 71. I attached the picture of my group 5, but that is explicitly discontinued. Maybe I can locate the coil and splice my alternator and magneto wires in.

I'll see if the vendors have anything. I though about a CDI mod if its even a thing.

Thanks fellers.
