My BIL Jeff and his BIL Fritz , were working on Fritz's boat Jeff  the  mechanic in a very tight spot cussing and swearing about the tools he was handed from Fritz to work on the boat. Fritz's reply was there the one's you gave me for Christmass .

I usually get a tool or two every Christmas, but they ask first what I need and know to get decent stuff.   I just threw away a set of snap ring pliers I got from HF.  I needed a set and they were out of the good one so get the cheap ones.  Wrong move.

I'm sure most of us has gotten one of those "as seen on TV" 12 in 1 tools from a well meaning, non tool person, as a gift. They're all proud of themselves, and you do your best to seem ecstatic, lol.

I don't request tools for gifts because they end up being something I would never buy. I like gift cards...convenient for the buyer & gives me a better choice.
