i bet this same question has come up a 100 times, but i looked on the net, and in here and have not found out the correct fluid for the trans axle. the manual says type (a).. dont think thats around anymore, so for 101 times anybody know what i should use?????

90w gear oil, get non detergent

They take 90wt Gear oil in the Differential case AND Type A hydraulic oil in the Hydro reservoir

 

Page 11 of that manual for filling instructions and oil type.

 

napa, autozone, advanced and discount auto all carry Type a tranny fluid

 

Wallmart has some to BUT Don't buy the cheap Coastal brand crap.It says right on the back that it's made from recycled oils.It sure does smell like it to.

 

I ran Dextron 3 in mine till I could get Type A.It worked but was a bit sluggish and made the pump groan.I pulled the pan and flushed it out when I put the Type A in and it ran nice and quiet again.
