I had to replace the ball and roller bearings on one of the spindles for my mower and I want to make the deck quieter when I am mowing.  So I have noticed that all three blades have little shrouds that just float between the blade and are centered over the shaft of the spindle.  The shrouds make a lot of noise as they just bounce around when the deck is running...am I missing a piece in here that keeps it snug against the blade?  I am tempted to remove it, at the expense of exposing the roller bearings to grass clippings and moisture.

I think those covers either had the double D cutout like the blade and was on top of the blade or they were snug to the outside of the mandrel.
I think the first is right as it would've kept junk out better... Now that they're round and worn out, They're doing nothing.

MH81 is right. Their suppose to have the double D cutout.

Time to fire up the old plasma table and cut some new ones I guess.  It just seemed odd that they would have worn out...but it does make sense as it'd be sandwiched in place from the blade.  Thanks for the heads up guys!
