update on the simplicity 700 restoration

I went through a few of my old posts here is a quick summary of how I got here.
a friend found this on Craigslist purchased it for me cause he knew I liked old gt's. it was in boxes and partially taken apart. I probably would have passed on it, but I am sucker for these old gt's. here some one tried to restore it at some point and something catastrophic happened to the trans locked up bent drive shaft. the seller attempted to start putting things back together but had 2nd thoughts and now I am stuck sorting it out.
full blown restoration, engine was tore down, parts all taken down repainted ac orange, I used an off white almond color instead of white, looks sharp, I was able to talk my mom into redoing the seat which came out awesome, so this late spring started bolting it back together and the transaxle which I thought I had freed up locked up me again (thank goodness not after I had it running) at that point among discussion it was decided to replace it, not to chance it after all this time and effort, going through my contacts, member classic set me up to keep the project going, hopefully this year it will be completed but no rush. this by far has been a very complex project where just about everything had to be checked or redone.
still on the list to do:
swap out the trans (stinks I painted the bad one) oh well
install the engine, driveline and steering
re wire the whole tractor
install the lights
it's getting there slowly.... here's what it looks like now, I just temporary bolted some stuff on to test fit. I have 2 stainless plugs where someone drilled the hood for lights. I tracked a cyclops light for the hood and hankg sent over a set of really cool tail lights.
- Alc, KennyP, boyscout862 and 2 others have said thanks
