Just want to make sure before I buy it

It looks like the one on my 1973 SS-16 - model 842.260052. The 842 indicates Haban manufactured the unit. My neighbor had the same one on his 1968 or 1969 Suburban 12.

I am wondering if my 12hp will power that large blower very well.  Also I talked to the owner and he said he has removed the chain and sprockets and added a gear box. I know sometimes we can make things better but trying to find a part for something that someone else made scares me a bit ....however if built right it may never be a problem. Then yet why is he selling it I have to ask myself. I am going to have him send a photo or two when he calls me tonight and see what I am dealing with ...If he would have said he swapped the chain for a gear box in the ad it may make me feel better as I would know it was something he was proud of.

We will see.

Looks like it's mostly there. The lift and mule. (Drive shaft? )
The tin tunnel cover seems to be missing and the chute rod and rear support.
Nothing that can't be made.

Ask for a better pix of the "mods"

As for will a 12 hp run it? Yes, but it will work it hard and you will be going slow.
I stopped using mine on my 12 for fear of doin it a damage.

If you are used to the WH blower, this will not be as good. Flat out half the distance on throw. Oh, and I would say you need a 16 or better to run it well. My 19.9 will even bog down in heavier stuff.

As for a modified unit, that's max. I would be in the $80-100 mentally.
