Any thoughts on methods for an engine rebuild or places to get a kit?

Limiter exposure to the Fords, two things I have seen change on almost every one.

Coil pack fails and you need to modify the system slightly to put in a STD coil.

Pto bearing lets the shaft slide out when it fails. My buddy was brushhogging and it stopped. Looked back to see an extra foot of shaft back there, thank God no damage done... He was lucky.

Other than that, lots of them out there still in use. Great little machines. Love that Ferguson system!

If you go to: N Tractor Club and click on the "Links" button in the red bar, you will find several suppliers listed.

Also in the red bar is a "How-To" section. .....There is much info there, and I believe some rebuild pics, as well.

If you have any questions, post them on the "N Board" forum (link also in the red bar).

Or you could be all punk rock style like my nieghbors 8n and modify his with a 300 six from and old ford truck. It is a crazy hack job. He bought it for parts, I helped him get it started so he could drive it nothing fit right all the mounts were welded together. Guess the guy who put it together didnt know how to drill holes. I have to find some pics of it, A Ford Tractor guy would vomit in his mouth at the sight of this thing.

Sorry for the useless post
