So I bought my first bolens, which in turn has bought me here!
This popped up on a UK sale page.

All the add read was that it was an old bolens and required new rear tyres.

I travelled about an hour and a bit to collect where I met a lovely old man, who had bought it for his grand daughter to play on. A very clever man with many cool things about.
After chatting for a couple off hours I loaded up and headed home.
The bolens itself had been sat under a sheet in the elements for about 15yrs.
An afternoon off tinkering the next day saw the old girl running again and then some tyres purchased off a local enthusiast (who is known on this site) saw it all up and running again.

I will get some photos on here once I work out how! Haha

Glad to see the little one enjoying your new toy!!  :D  Nice find, even if it is the wrong color...  (Is that John Deere Green or British Racing Green?  Hard for me to tell from the pictures...)

What is with the tuna fish cans for headlights?  lol...  This is the first time I have ever seen something like that!

Good luck and have fun with it!  Any plans as of yet or can you use it as it is?  Did it come with any attachments or are you planning on trying to find some for it?

Welcome to the forum.  Glad you found your way over here, some very knowledgeable Bolens folk and all the UK Bolens guys you know from the other forum (Don't mention the name on here, I did once and got a slap :-) )

853 in an unsual machine in the UK and it looks great, especially with the new tyres.

From the pictures it looks like the PTO and lift lever are missing. I have bought a few with the same parts missing and I often wonder if someone has a workshop full of PTO's and lift levers. If you wanted to replace those parts I am sure someone on here will be able to help you

It's a shame it is in green... but at the same time makes it 'different' .. again unsure on the front covers, I'm going to try and source some light.
Didn't come through it any attatchments, again long term plan will be to pick them up as I go along

The smiles in the pictures are priceless!

Its always great to find a new toy from the countryside, or even across the pond. Green or not, you will enjoy it!

I can immagine sourcing parts/spares in your area may be a bit of a chore? There are a few sponsors on the site that have plenty of know how knowledge, and connections to items you may require, so be sure to check them out. Cheers;)

Congrats on getting it running. I like the fancy exhaust on it. I've got an 853 and I do like it a lot. It's got a mid mount grader blade and york rake. It's the best starting machine I own starts in like one second unbelievable. You will have fun with that tractor.

Indeed the smile is priceless!
With regards to spares i think i will just keep my eyes open and pick them up as I go along. It won't have a hard life. Just a toy/ show piece.

It's currently on the manual pull start
.. the day after I spent an afternoon getting it running I woke with blistered hands and my sides ached! Haha. I have a dynamo starter with it, just need the wiring harness making and also the top bracket

Definitely not BRG (British Racing Green) as that would be a dark green. Probably is a John Deere Sabre colour?
