Hi everyone!

I've been mowing and pulling with my 1450 for 6 or 7 years now, and except for general maintenance and pully/spindle work it has been working like a champ!

Electric deck lift works great, mows great, lots of power.

But yesterday I lost all forward gears, and can only run the tractor in reverse.

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to GTT. I'm not sure what is going on with your trany. You can download the manuals from our Manuals Section and see what they have to say. There is a section for transmission manuals. Someone will be along to help also. Good Luck, Rick

If we are talking about a hydro you need to check the linkage you have a pivot like a tie rod end that wears and bushings and a set screw at the shaft coming out of the transmission that may have come loose, this must seat in a detent on the shaft to center forward and reverse.  Remove fender/seat pan to inspect.   Good Luck

Yes, Stiemmey, my 1450 has a hydro trans.  I'll download manuals and check the linkage.  Thanks!

I had not lost forward or reverse in my LGT145 but was close. This will show what I did to repair what I found. http://gardentractor...gt-145-repairs/

Your 145 has an Eaton and the 1450 has a Hydro- gear, completely different.

Hi everyone!  Yes, I finally got to my Jake and after checking transmission oil I looked under the seat as per MM MARK and the linkage was not connected.  First I tried to see if just placing the tie-rod over the gear selector lever on the transmission would hold, but quickly found out it would not.  As a temp fix I've wired them together so I can mow.  Have some pics in my gallery, but not sure how to share them on this thread!  Will try that next.

Now we can find a way to fix this issue. Take that ball out of that end. Take the other end off. Measure thread sizes and find new on line! They are out there!
