Why does the bug only have 6 legs?

Because it's a bug not a spider

Why does the bug only have 6 legs?

If it had 8 legs it would be a spider

Two car bodies mounted on legs of steel

In a farmers field they look hauntingly real

A VW beetle with six appendages to provide support

The Karmann Ghia with eight - time to call 911 and report

The invasion has started - the creatures have arrived

From some distant galaxy they have come and survived

They are starting to gather this strange form of life

That resembles cars with legs - gather the kids and the wife

Find a safe place to avoid being part of the battle

Where cars takes on humans in fields that once pastured cattle

Oh wait just a minute - upon reassessing the scene

It's an artists creation of cars once pristine

That wore out their use and no longer could drive

A second chance they got to once again come alive

To show off their lines of styling and grace

That once travelled our highways so commonplace

They may not go far but they do draw attention

And provide conversations in which they get mention

One car was an economy version to move people around

The other a model with attractive styling and a sporty sound

To a collector these new uses might cause some distress

But at least they are not crushed which would be worse I guess

Let's hope that they never decide to turn relics like us

Into works of art when we have travelled our journey and turned to dust

Let the world remember us for how we acted and care

And not a work of art in a field for people to look at and stare
