This is great! I wanted to see the inside of one of these before I ever had to rip one down myself. Great thread and picks for sure.

I got it moved inside and busted apart. Need to take the diagram out and figure out what gears are needed. Got a major T-storm coming in. Wind switched to NE at about 30-35 MPH and LOTS of Thunder! Direct TV is out as usual, so have to rely on the internet for weather Alerts.

Area in Blue is where the second gear is out of it.

OMG I was so very bummed out yesterday after discovering the damage I did to my tractor and now I feel so very much better - I spent the day today putting birds in the freezer and one tasty but severely beaten pheasant in the pot. I wasn't expecting you to be so quick but I'm so very happy you have been ;)

I see the gears I'm after in this photo, except I opened my case the other way around, the 1st and reverse pinion gear is underneath the blue area you highlighted which was the 2nd and 3rd pinion gears. the small gear at the bottom of that same rod is one of the four I need. The next two gears I need mesh with that small pinion gear for 1st and reverse. The final gear is underneath the whole stack and is the reverse idler gear, that one is connected directly to the case with a clip.

I'm currently working but I have a break in an hour and will highlight the gears and post an image.

I can't thank you enough! I have PayPal to pay you with, or can send cash if you prefer.

Hey David, Welcome!! Where are you located at in NC? I used to live in Macon co, Lake Nantahala area.

Hi there! :)

I'm in Haywood county just a mile or so from the blue ridge parkway. Town is called Waynesville and I just love it here. I moved here from Florida. It's a wonderful town :)

I'm glad that you escaped a hornet attack. I told my dog when he was a puppy those things are flying NOs. He didn't listen but has since learned I was right ;)

So in case you're wondering how exactly you break your gears like this? It's pretty simple, your pet goat decides he wants a tractor ride so you put it in neutral and invite him to jump on. He goes for your lap and jams it into first gear. A loud crunch is heard from both the gearbox and your lap and you end up with what is pictured ;)

I would say that is his last tractor ride but I would be lying. Goats don't seem to have a concept of NO!

Here they are when they were born on March 29th. It was Gilligan the boy on my left who did it.

I got them out, but 2 have a tooth off of them. Looks a little worn on the edges of those too. Let me know if you want them.

I would think they would get you by for now, but be looking for another rear just in case.

You sure do work fast Kenny,

Sure I would like them. As you said, they will get me by for now. How much would you like for them and your spectacular efforts? I will send you my address information in private message.

KennyP,

Gears arrived today, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Got them installed and just waiting on the gasket to arrive from sears now. They still make that ;) Everything turns without skipping. I'm going to try to put a weld on the "spare" gears and see if I can fix/fabricate a broken tooth that way. If so, I'll do it to the pinion gear's missing tooth.

Does any one have an opinion on my weld idea?

I am thinking I will take all gears out but a few and put the case back together. Make a plate for the shifter hole, put some oil in it and use for a trailer axle! Good way to have 12" tires on a trailer.

Thank you KennyP and Jimmy,

All put back together with no missing teeth now :) I had some trouble getting the brake off and had to replace an oil seal as well.

If you're interested I posted a video on youtube.

Thanks again, it's good to be tractoring again.
