Hey Guys,

I have started a complete restore of a 15FC02 Versamatic. There is a grease fitting in the top of the gear case. Is this the only type of lubrication used in the gear case? Seems like this would be a great place for some gear oil.

We have all heard of finding a great value laying out in a fence row. I actually had to cut down three saplings to extract this Versamatic from a brush pile. It is a 15FC02 with a sickle mower. Engine had compression and the sickle mower is free running. Gave $25.00 for the pair. A new coil, condenser and carb kit and she lite up. Photos will be posted on completion.

Thanks to my friends out there in Bolens land.

These gear cases maninly just used grease,  there's a top fitting that keeps things pretty much lubed, however the manual says they left the factory with 1/2 pound of "All purpose oil"  , Maybe gear oil??

Amazing that the mower was free and you got it running.   :wewantpics:
