I recently picked up a Lawn-Boy 10545 and noticed that the crankshaft has about 1/4" up and down play. It runs strong with no noises and rolls over nice and smooth but I know something isn't right. Any thoughts? Thanks

That seems like very excessive end play. Usually there is a shiming proceedure when assembling an engine. Check the manual. Good Luck, Rick
