Just bought this , V S ,1997 Commodore , Sedan from the x- Brother in law,  PB220061.JPG          Paid $150.00 for it Bargains i love em !

The body & interior is in really good condition  with 90% tread tires & has all the extras on it from manufacture                        PB220062.JPG

The Engine has a knock in it as he put a high performance oil filter on the engine & starved the bottom end ( crank ) for oil , PB220063.JPG

So going to keep it for a bit & drop the sump to see what damage there is , maybe repair or buy another engine for about $500.00 PB220064.JPG

but for the mean while going to park it in the big shed till i get to it , which won't be for awhile

How does a "high perf filter" starve the lower end?

Well seeing as how their on the opposite side of the world, things are upside down there. So seeing as how the engine is running upside down, it only makes sense. ;)

And when Shane gets back on, he is going to wonder at the amount of ADD in this thread and the sanity of his American GT Buddies. LOL

They always reminded me of an Oldsmobile/Volvo love child, but I like them. Which model and which engine/transmission combo do you have.

I drove a Cherokee mail delivery edition once, it took me just a couple of minutes to get use to the steering wheel on the right, but the other drivers could never seem to adjust to me driving on the left, horns blowing, one finger salutes....!

lmao @ you lot , silly buggers with all the humourous comments ,still got tears from laughing so much

1ly Commodore is a Holden family style car 5 seat

2ndly on a regular engine if the oil pump is standard as holdens are they don't like the H/performance filters as the H/P filters have more cleansing filters inside them & the reg oil pumps can't push the oil through enough , so makes lack of oil to the bottom end ( big ends & mains )

3rdly the engine is a 3.8 V6 petrol injection type ,4 sp auto ,what they call the eco engine design , not the earlier 1's from buick design

& ty peop's i had a good laugh , love my American pard's humour
