Hello there! I'm pretty new to Gravely walk behinds. I bought a 57 model L super convertible last year and started to restore it a month ago. While I'm still restoring the actual mower, my main question is about the brush hog that came with it. I don't know if the last owner did this or what but someone put wheels in the front. I removed them and been searching all over to find skids or find the dimensions to possibly make them. So if anyone can help me with the dimensions or might know where I can find skids I would greatly appreciate it!

Welcome.

I would try to help ya, but my gravely/bush hog is stored in the barn under about a days worth of clean out. No way I can get to it easily.

Here is pictures of my 1955 Model L with 30 inch deck

The flat sides of my 30 inch deck have the skids on it

Not sure of the lentgh of skids

I'm guessing about 10 to 12 inches long

I made mine out of 1 inch angle iron

Looking at the attached pictures you should be able to see them

The skids are an off the shelf item stocked by Richards. If you google Richards Gravely you can access the catalog on line.
