Last year I had to replace the seals on the parking pawl due to a leak.  I used just standard O-rings which seemed to seal just fine.  I did note at the time that the o-ring between the hydro and the housing was a little wet but not enough to drip on the ground.  Fast forward to now and it's leaking like a sieve.  I replaced the pawl seals again as I did see some evidence of seepage and contacted ClassicBolens here to get the correct quad seal.  After refilling the hydro, I then started the tractor up and could see fluid being pushed out, even kind of spitting out of the bottom seal area of the hydro to housing.

Looks like Bolens1000 has the trans housing o-ring, p/n 1719865, but in the parts manual it recommends a bunch of other seals that will need to be replaced when taking they hydro unit out.  I can't find any of them online.  Some I'm guessing are just standard O-rings.  For the guys who have had to pull the hydro unit, what did you do about all the other seals?  I don't want to go through pulling this all apart and not have good seals/gaskets to go back on.

Here's a list of what seals are recommended to be replaced:

1719852  (1) Trans cover (top of axle housing)

1720309  (2) hydro filter stud o-rings

1719862  (1) mounting bolt seal washer

1719866  (2) connecting tube o-ring

1719898  (1) brake flange gasket

1719899  (4) brake seal washer

Also, I noticed on the axle tube that there was some sort of ID tag welded to it.  I haven't seen/noticed this on any other unit.  Do the numbers mean anything?  See attached pic.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys. The one I'm most interested in getting is the top trans cover gasket. I think I can match up the orings

I currently only have the 1720309 hydro filter stud o-rings, which I'll throw in with the parking pawl seal kit. Most of the o-rings are fairly standard, so you should be able to match them up. Hopefully Rick has the gaskets you need, because I simply cannot get to them right now. Need more shelf space.  :wallbanging:

I used these when I rebuilt my eaton12:

Seal for the hydro input shaft (coming from the driveshaft)

input seal skf p/n 7443
control shaft seal skf p/n 7414

Go to McMasterCarr website and look up these orings from the receipt I posted here. They are the ones I used for the hydro fin cover and the hydro-to-transaxle. They came in 5 pack and a 25 pack. They are pretty big but not very expensive.

Heres a post I used for the parking pawl.
