Crimp-on, or, clips?

Making up a few 5/16" chokers. Anyone had experience with the crimp-on method for forming eyes?

Thats pretty much whats used in construction industry, if its not going to be much weight bolt up will work but wont look as nice and should be checked for looseness every use

My concern with using clips was the bolt ends getting snagged in branches etc.. Thanks for your input.

I've not done this as yet, but the crimp on would be a cleaner install.
