I'm going to differ here and say if it were me i'd try trading down for a working plow + extras, or try selling it to a wh collector then buy a used one with $$ left over..

I'm going to disagree here, your friend gave you a really good deal on the plow knowing you wanted a plow for yourself, selling it for a profit will cause hard feeling, just use the plow.

Assemble it and like's been said keep it unmodified.  Then hook it up and go turn some furrows with it.  If it had a box and was in it that might be different.  Go for it Alan!

I wasn't thinking of that! Thanks for reminding me!

...or trade/sell it to a wh collector for a used plow + extras, then give the extras to your friend as thanks, that's 3 people winning in one deal.  of course i don't know anyone involved just my take on it from my lounge chair...

The way I see it, is that Alan is looking for someone to help him

assemble the plow.

He would never come right out and ask, because he wouldn't

want to be a bother. That's the nice thing about Alan, he keeps

to himself.

:D  :poke:  :smilewink:

Alan,   It's not a National Treasure ....Go enjoy it.

(My apologies to Richard Boone (Paladin) for the following)        Rick

Alan,  Alan where do you plow?
Alan,  Alan turn some dirt now.

Have plow will travel reads the card of a man.
A Sunday Farmer in a fertile land.
His single plow for hire turns the farmers land.
A Sunday Farmer is a man called Alan.

Alan , Alan where do you plow?
Alan,  Alan turn some dirt now.

He travels on to  wherever he must,
A straw hat and bibs is his badge of trust.
There are plowday legends that the farmers spin,
Of a man with the plow,  Of a man called Alan.

Alan,  Alan where do you plow?
Alan, Alan turn some dirt now.
Turn some dirt now.
Turn some dirt now.

Had to share that one with Mom.
She got a kick out of it.

I think you should save it for Ball Hollow rd. next year. You can make the opening furrow with it.

And that way lots of folks can do video so that it will be documented for years to come, since very few of us can say we have or ever will have a NEW OLD plow
