Hi I was wondering what year this Craftsman is? I can't seem to find anything about it. The guys says the model number is 13196710. Its a 10hp hydrostatic. I'm going to check it out today. Probably pick both of them up.

Not sure of year, but it's Roper built.

Probably a 36" cut.

Ford looks OK, but Sears is just a Lawn tractor!  Can't help with year. Fancy chrome lights, heh!  Not very big deck. Just buy the Ford.

Looks like a late 1960s mower by the paint color and the starter generator and the aluminum or magnesium deck.Going to go with 1967-69.1966 and earlier would have Points ignition on that HH100 any later than 1972 would have gear drive starter.

You can tell it's Solid State ignition by that nice shinny sticker on the blower housing.Tecumseh was very proud of those being the 1st small engine with Pointless ignition.

I would get it if it's cheap enough.Looks to be in really good condition other than 1 wrong rim and tire on the front.

Searspartsdirect has some parts for it yet.

Bet you it weighs almost twice what that Ford YT16 or YT18H does. Can't tell what that one is without better pics.

thanks for the info guys. im sorry im just now getting back to them! i ended up getting a deal for both. i was keeping an eye out for a ford for a friend and i ended up with the craftsman. from what im finding the craftsman seems to be pretty rare. i really have no use for it other then the peerless gearboxes and motor. its hard to part out something original like this. its in good shape. could use alittle carb work but runs and mows good. it does have the 4th matching wheel just no hub cap. from what i can tell its a cast aluminum deck with 2 gearboxes. the hydro trans has a clutch. model #131.96710 engine model# 143-599012 serial 9003......08405. plow model#131-80320
