Im in the process of removing the engine from the HT18 so I can replace the steering bridge. The engine is only hung up by the shaft now. Ive sprayed PB Blaster, tried pounding with a pry bar with no luck. Is it safe to use heat? Will I damage the crank and or seals?

Torch the u joint out on the engine side of the drive shaft and use a puller to get the end off the engine.

Adam when i pull the bridge out. I just unbolt the frame rail on the left side from the trans and motor bolts and roll the frame just enough to drop the bridge out.also make sure to unbolt the dash tower so not to bend it. And make sure the motor is supported with a jake or stand so not to fall.

Im also planning on going through the motor while its out. I found it easy to pull the bridge out once the motors out. I guess I'll try some heat later this week.
