Can you mount a sickle mower to a 916H?

Here is the list of Allis 916H's. 1980-1985 do not appear to natively support sickle mowers. You could jury rig something up for it to work though. http://www.tractorbl...s-Chalmers/916H

EDIT: According to VintageIronCollector, there was a sickle attachment for the 900 series.

What even more crazy is that $3,350 in 1980 is now $9,766.88 in 2016.

They did make a sickle bar for the 900 series. My dad has one for on a 912 so I'm assuming it'll fit the 916 too. They are hard as hen's teeth to find and when you do find them I was told they bring about $400-500.

It is the "planetary drive" type of sickle. They were not "offered" for the 900's but were offered for the 700's and if you use a longer belt, and drill a hole in the frame to mount the cable bracket and fab up a rear support chain, they will work. Talntedmrgreen had this setup on his 917.

I have attempted to use a foot dragge PTO on my 916H to power an old style FDT sicklebar mower. It is a work in process as have a pulley misalignment of about 1". When the weather get cooler I may tackle it again. The old style PTO will provide the required speed reduction for the sicklebar.
