This idea originally designed to make ford owners more comfortable awhile waiting for a tow truck.  It eventually started to be a common practice at home since many ford owners were getting used to sleeping in their truck, but many users found that their ford truck bed bed would rust into the ground after only a couple years of use.  Many people opted to switch to a Chevy for their home bed.

Isn't it illegal to 'ride' in the bed of your truck???

Hay Kris,  don't go knocking the Chevy trucks.  More Chevy's on the road today than any other truck.

Ya, they were going to use a Ford of that age but found all the parts had rusted away to dust. So they settled for the best. LOL!!

A Chevy truck it used to be

Now it's a bed with tail lights as you see

The head board is made from a part of a cab

And other parts were used in this creative fab

Tailgate and rear bumper form the other end

A place for some one to recline and into slumber send

A mattress laid down for a good nights rest

Pillows and bedspread - sleep at its best

A man cave perhaps that may provide

A safe place for a man to exist inside

To avoid contact with the opposite sex

And live somewhat like Tyrannosaurus Rex

Not sure of the long term effects of this mode

Of sleeping on something made to carry a load

The person may start to feel like a piece of cargo

And end up on the road and very far go

Or maybe end up with someone who adds more freight

And begins a long term adventure as their new mate

A bit of thought went into this dream

Or maybe it was a nightmare that created a scream

When they realized to make a Chevy a place to sleep

The truck is no longer - the original designers dream cast on the heap
