Alright guys, got another question. I know some of you have a Massey dump cart. I just acquired one and it is in terrific shape other then a couple of items that have been poorly repaired. One is the bottom tongue plate, which I can easily fix with just some time and a couple pieces of steel. The other is the latch assembly. I don't know what they had going on with what they did but I know it isn't right. Problem is I don't know what it is supposed to be.

So if you have pictures or have a dump cart can you please take some pictures of the latch assembly for me and post them? I know it won't be original but I would like to get it as close as possible.

I don't have a Massey dump cart but I do have some info on them in one of my manuals. I will look this morning and see how extensive the break down is in the manual. If it's worth using I will scan it and upload it. Post it to this thread and upload to the manuals section.

Thanks for the help guys. I am going to try and work on the cart here soon since I would like to take it to shows. Here are some pics of it to show how solid it is and it's overall condition minus the couple of poor fixes.

Judging by the parts breakout and that picture it seems the latch is just a piece of steel bent with e lip to latch and a part to get a finger in to pull it. I wonder if it is spring steel or if regular flat stock would work?

George, hopefully I will be up north where my cart is this weekend and will take a look at it and shoot a couple pics, if you want dimensions I should be able to get them for you too.
