Every effort is being made to keep California from breaking off into the ocean.

I say let them go

Cracks in the asphalt - mother nature at play

Shifting the ground underneath the roadway

With each passing day and change of season

The cracks get bigger - it stands to reason

Heat and cold, water changing to frost

Results in the taxpayer bearing the cost

Of fixing and maintaining a road on which

People ride and drive to avoid the ditch

A hot gooey mess when first laid down

It serves the nation in cities and towns

But in this case the price of the crack to repair

Was more than the taxpayers thought they could bear

So they opted for a less expensive way

They thought would possibly save the day

Short strips of tape placed across the flaw

In strategic places that some engineer saw

As an economic fix that should last they presumed

From the cold of night to the heat at noon

But they are in for a surprise I am afraid

As duct tape does not make a new road bed laid

So while it looks like a fix that may last for years

It will probably be gone when mother nature sheds her next tears

nice video - why does nobody like bricklayer cleavages?

This marks on the street are necessary to show ground movement.

Take a drive through Milwaukee ( if your brave enough ) and this would be one of the best streets around.
