Finally got one pic to upload using the basic uploader. This is where I started taking the valve apart.

This is what i found inside.

The two spool sections are steel, so an air angle grinder with a scotchbrite pad will clean those. I'll have to be real careful with the ends sections as they are aluminum.

Doesn't look like there would be anything in there which would cause your deadhead problems . Maybe after you put the new seals in it and before installing it you could hook up your shop air with a regulator and air test it like you would do a automatic transmission , both spools , that one has a float function doesn't it ?

Not sure if I could do that test with air, not nearly the pressure the hydro has. This valve was leaking at the rear of the spool plus between the valves. I attribute most of that to old o-rings and the rust between the valves. The o-rings between are real stiff.

Don, make me up a set of those. I have 2 more of this type valve on the FF's. When I got most of the o-rings here, I picked up an extra of each that I got. Not sure how long before they can get the metric ones.

I'll get out this morning and get some pics into the valves to show how the spools are sitting for return flow when centered, Don. Then start cleaning.

Kenny , my thought with the air was not to test for leaks but to see the flow through  the valve when the spools where moved

Got them cleaned up and new seals/o-rings installed. Ready to go back together when I get the last 4 o-rings. Got a ton of pics, but gotta upload one at a time. For some reason, the advanced uploader isn't working. I remembered I had a good razor blade scraper and used that instead of the scotch-brite disk. Worked real well!

Testing the advanced uploader! Looks like uninstalling FF and reinstalling did the trick.
