I just finished this bird house in the form of an old silo. Of the holes on the front only two actually go all the way in. The wood used is cedar, pine and walnut; all scraps from other projects. I also created the post which has an arm. Next I'm planning to make a wooden sign with an antique tractor created from different colors of woodto put on it. Currently, the wife and I are arguing about what tractor to put on it.

Considering the perch, maybe a narrow front?

Super MTA, if you're looking for opinions.

Pine does not stand up well outdoors.  Walnut will warp.  Stay with cedar and you will be much happier, and so will the birds. Very nice work and eye catching.  IH for tractor and you both may be happy.

I was going to be artistic and use this photo of a Farmall F14 focusing on the iconic front end. My wife says it looks weird and needs the wheels on it.

It will be easier to let her win.

Be different, Minneapolis-Moline in nice yellow and red colors. At shows those sellers have metal cut-outs of them (and others....hmm) that can hang or mount on mailboxes or other things. The MM one would be neat, show up and be different. Please don't go Green and Yellow! A Case one might be less common too, the the light and dark orangey color they used some years.

GL, I want to see your sign post when you get it done, um hummmh.

The metal sign is a thought, though.
