I bought 3 sears suburbans a while back with plans to make 2 good ones out of as I had parts and pieces everywhere nothing was even close to running it was a waste case of a project that some one stored away in 5 gallon buckets that literally were filled with water. I selected what I though would be the best two to restore and having plenty of parts from the other  tractor  I started making sence of all the pieces so I thought.

I was starting what I know is a 1968 Suburban with a manual tranny (917.25311) I was able to read the tag. As I was going though parts to restore to make my first complete tractor I finished up a hood that I was going to use on the 68 because it looked the coolest

Well it was to short so was not for a 68 and I found that out after painting it duh. It was cold out thats my excuse. Anyway with some help I was able to ID the hood as a 1967, so I sold it on ebay as it was of no use to me.

I have been learning and reading though and in 1967 they did not make a Hydro Trach that I am aware of and the hood I just shown fits on a 1967 Hydro Trac. The tractor I took this off from is a hydro trac and it has the correct front end that also says Hydro Trac

Did I goof by taking this apart and using it as a parts tractor? I Cannot Id it for the life of me or even take a good guess at what year hydro this is. If this is something I should save I guess I will need a new hood.

OOOPS!

Its a fixable Opps I only sold the hood....my wife is laughing at me because she knows I am going to end up paying more for the replacement then I sold the original one for.

So yeah what an opps...I restored the hood for it already and sold it for next to nothing just because I didn't think I was going to need it, was not interested in really making anything off it either, just didn't want a refinished hood to go to waste.

Now I am not going to allow a rare suburban to go to waste. looks like I got my next project after my next project now....lol
