Hi all, I just picked up a nice bolens. Problem is the shaft that has the pto pulley is on it was pretty tight' I got it semi loose' but I don't know if the rod on pto lever goes on top or under the rod that operates the pto pulley. Oops I mean pto idler pulley

Download the manual from our Manuals Section. Pics will help us understand the problem. Good Luck, Rick

I'm not sure what exactly you are asking about, but here is a shot of the pto idler on a 1054 tube frame as viewed from behind the tractor. It won't be identical on your G9, but it should be similar

Jim

I should add that the idler in the front of the picture is for the pto, the one at the back is the idler for the drive.

thats close, the shaft that the pto idler pully is on goes back to the pto lever.the pto lever operates that shaft, right where the pto lever hits the shaft, the pto lever can go under or on top of pto shaft.sorry first time ever to use paint.lol sad, very sad

I'm not sure if you have this figured out yet or not. I just picked up a mostly stripped G series for the good 6 speed transmission it had in it. I have older (early 70's and older)  tube frame tractors and the PTO lever is completely different than on the later machines like yours. This parts machine has the same PTO lever as yours though, so I took a few pictures of it for you. It looks like you are missing a piece that links those two pins together. I have no use for that part, it's yours if you want it. The shifter plate you need was missing though, or you could have had that too.

It can probably ship as a letter, it's pretty tiny and it's plastic. Just PM me your shipping address and I will send it out as soon as I get a chance.
