Password changes on MTF: FYI

I am writing this not to direct members to another site but rather as a courtesy to existing members of MTF who may have questions about the current password changes to hopefully address any confusion.

If you happen to be a member on MTF, please note the forum host, Vertical Scope, is currently requiring all members to change their password for security reasons.

You should be receiving an automated email with information on password change.
If you do not receive an automated email, you will need to go through the password reset process.

Thanks Austin, It is affecting a lot of sites. Been changing passwords all morning that I use like Sears, McMasters, UPS etc.

ya, they haven't responded to my requests and email change so I guess I'm not welcome there anymore. I noticed that when I posted something a while ago, it never got a response and then was removed. Glad to be here. Can' t think of a better place.                                                                                    Roger

Let's go ahead and be totally honest here. The data breach occurred in February and they're just getting around to telling you now.

 

Note to Carbon Media: If that would ever happen to you, go ahead and tell us right away. It might help us keep the members we have.

That is the reason why, Larry. They are also suggesting changing your password (at a minimum) once every six months from here on out.

 

Kinda gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling when you realize how much they care.

After the recent Nazi admins/mods encounter, I won't be back there anyway. Pretty sad when moderators tell an original thread poster to monitor what the members say on his thread instead of dealing with that person directly.
