I haven't posted this anywhere as I wanted to see if it would work. This is an add-on for Alice, my 718H Modified tractor. I got a yard swing with a canopy, but the cover was long gone. I got to looking at that frame and thought why not a GT canopy. After a little work, I had a GT sized frame. Next was building something to hold it up there. It gets quite hot down here during the summer and I thought a little shade would be nice. No skyhooks available to keep a cloud over me & Alice. So I got to work.

I knew I would be taking Alice apart soon for some other needed items. So I made a frame from some 1"X1" square tube laying about. I may have gotten it a bit tall, but that can be changed. I wanted it high enough so folks didn't have to bend over to much to get on Alice.

Anyways, here is where I am at the moment. I have a piece of white rubberized tarp I plan to make the cover out of.

Alice is apart right now for the fixes. As soon a She is back together, I have the frame mounted and we can all have a look-see.

I saw a post from last night (or early this morning) about you making repairs to your GT and saw the start of the canopy in one of the photos.

Great idea!

I'm working on it, guys! Gotta let paint cure some so I can put her back together. My biggest issue will be if the frame isn't solid enough to hold it fairly steady. If that works, then I'll cut a piece of the tarp and pop rivet it on. Too cheap to buy snaps! Stay tuned!

Only trouble I can see is the exhaust, can't really see how close it is but pointing straight up it is likely to direct the fumes at you while running hi rpm. Otherwise I like it!!!!

Exhaust is several feet forward of the canopy! I'll get pics when it can put it all together. But that should not be an issue!

Honestly...Thats me all the way , I am not to fond of a cab but like that a lot. I think I have the same canopy swing top to. Hmmmm A little sheet metal top welded on and it can be good for snow to Hmmmmmm.

Gotcha thinking now! Not enough snow here, but plenty of sun!

I have a long 445 diesel tractor and the exhaust is the same way, straight up and about 3' in front of the drivers seat.  I put a canopy on there to bush hog fields so I didn't get burned to death by the sun,  the fumes were so bad I had to re-route the exhaust down and under to get away from the problem.   Hope this works out for you as I want to do something for allis when I run the sickle mower.

Just a thought but that is a pretty big canopy and have you figured on bracing it for wind? maybe even just a cable to the hood or something might protect you from a strong gust.

Not a fan! Looks too light and flimsy, I'ld pass!  The Other Side! Hee!  Just do a heavier roll-over bar at back and put a top on that section, just like the real ones.

Remember the higher you make it the more sun it will let in, especially on the sides.  Definitely will need bracing on the front.  I had thought about putting a regular tractor umbrella on my one mowing tractor.  Too many trees to mow around and under for that to work.  Guess I will get be a big wide brim Sombrero.
